List of Basic Mods

Below is a list of fabric mods we recommend to improve your experience with PetCraft. We believe using these mods will help improve your quality-of-life while playing Minecraft.

Fabric API - Required to load any fabric mods. Hint: these are all fabric mods.

OptiFine - Adds shaders compatibility & graphics performance improvements.

OptiFabric - Allows OptiFine to be loaded as a Fabric mod. Typically it’s installed as a stand-alone mod.

Shulkerbox Tool Tip - See what’s inside a shulkerbox while it’s in your inventory.

Simple Voice Chat - Adds in-game voice chat to PetCraft. Press v to see options.

Apple Skin - Displays the amount of hunger that food will restore.

Mod Menu - Configure your modules using a GUI inside Minecraft. Way better than editing config files.

How to install the Fabric & the PetCraft mods

First install the Fabric Loader. The Loader installer will create a new profile in the Minecraft Launcher called “Fabric Loader”. You will use this profile to play with mods.

Download the Fabric Loader installer from here and run the installer. Leave all settings default, make sure “create profile” is checked, and click “Install”.

Launch the game once by clicking Play, and close it immediately. This creates required directories, including the new mods directory, used in the next step.

Install the mods into your minecraft mods directory. Open the mods directory in Windows Explorer:

Enter the following in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods, or
In Minecraft, click the Mods button, then the Open Mods Folder button.

Unzip the mod pack into the mods directory.

That’s it! Launch minecraft again and all your mods should be loaded, ready to be configured!

Apple Skin

Apple Skin is a simple mod that adds a helpful information about hunger and saturation to the HUD.

Adds a visualization of saturation and exhaustion to the HUD

Adds food value information to tooltips

Adds a visualization of potential hunger/saturation restored while holding food

Mod Menu

Simple Voice Chat

There are 3 places to configure various aspects of the Voice Chat mod.

Controls / Key binds. Push-to-talk, mute and other keyboard controls are configured in the Minecraft Key Binds config screen — not in the mod config. Press the Esc button to show the main menu, then navigate to Options → Controls → Key Binds..

Mod settings. The Mod Menu config screen allows you to configure more advanced settings.

Connect to the PetCraft server and press the V button to open the Voice Chat Management screen. The Settings button allows you to adjust volumes and other audio settings. The Group button allows you to join an existing or create a new chat group, which allow players to chat across the entire server.
