Beginners Guide to PetCraft

Overview

• The Hub - Originally built as part of our Winter Village 2021 Project, the Chalet has become the official Hub for all players beginning their journey on PetCraft. The area is mob-proof

• Kits - You should spawn with a Newbie kit which contains the basics to keep you safe... for a while!

• Graves - If you die, use /graves to find your death location. Set your "home" home by sleeping in a bed and type /home to return to your bed. Other regular commands are down right now, because there is no big world gen yet - it's a new server and not fully launched

• Warps, teleporting & back - There are warp blocks available to click, and players have access to commands like /home & /back to help fast-travel around the map.

• Over 900+ custom advancements available to add more challenge to survival gameplay using the BlazeandCave's Advancements Pack. A list of all the achievements is available.

• Quests - A bunch of custom quests can be found throughout the server. Complete these quests for rewards like diamonds, currency and player experience points.

• mcMMO - A popular plugin that introduces skills and abilities into Minecraft, enhancing the native mechanics while extending the gameplay in ways that feel natural and require no client mods. mcMMO website

All Improvements & Updates

Advancements

Graves

Players will spawn a grave when they die. Graves will last for 3 hours from time of death. When a grave expires, the items inside are destroyed. Graves are protected from other players looting for the first 30 minutes.

Maximum 8 graves per player at any one time. After that, new graves will not be created and items will simply drop on death.

Graves will spawn in areas where you (the player) can build. Blocks must be available to place a grave. If you fall into lava, a grave will generate in the air 1 block above your death location. If you fall into the void without blocks nearby, a grave will not be generated.

Homes - Respawn & Teleport

• Players can have up to 2 homes set.

• If you have more than one home, the /home will open a GUI to select the home to warp back to. VIP may have 5 homes set.

• Players can set a home with /sethome

• Teleport back to your home(s) with /home

Kits

• Newbie Kit (One time only)
• Full diamond armor & some basic supplies to get you started.

• Basic Kit (20 minute cooldown)
• Chainmail armor, iron tools, bow & 64 arrows
• Stack of carrots and pumpkin pie

Player Mechanics

• You can sit on stairs, slabs & carpets with the /sit command or by shift-right-clicking on the block.

• Receive Newbie Kit when joining for the first time.

• When tool durability drops below 10% you will receive a notification.

• When respawning you are invulnerable for 3 seconds.

• Color codes are not permitted in public messages, but are permitted in private messages.

• AFK is triggered after 5 minutes. You will be kicked from the server after 30 minutes AFK.
• Run command /afk to set yourself AFK.
• You cannot be damaged while in AFK mode. Jumping does no affect AFK mode. While AFK, playtime (and rewards) will not be counted. You cannot pick up EXP file AFK.

Mob Mechanics

• Bees & Hives - Right click a hive to see how many bees and honey it contains.

• All mobs have a chance of dropping heads

• Enderman griefing is disabled.

• Mobs can be silenced with nametags named silence_me.

• End Dragon will drop an elytra and head.

• Zombies will not break doors.

• Phantoms only attack insomniacs.

Fixed & Game Mechanic Changes

• Block duplication & Bedrock / Portal breaking is patched.
• TNT duping, Carpet and Rail duping, and breaking Bedrock and End Portals, and Gravity Block Duping have been patched in Paper 1.15.2+. See Paper Issue #3854. We will consider enabling TNT duplication and bedrock breaking if there is enough interest.

• Prevent enderpearls from storing the thrower when in an unloaded chunk.

• Anti-X-ray mode is enabled; Using x-ray resource packs will not show the location of minerals.

• Hoppers - A short cooldown is applied when a hopper is full instead of constantly trying to pull new items.

1. Crafting a book & quill.

2. Open the book (right-click) and type any text into the first page so it's not blank (e.g. "123", "foo", etc.)

3. Click the Sign button, then title the book "Statues"

4. Click Sign and Close. Complete!
